38 Degrees members across the country have started handing in copies of the Save Our NHS petition to their local MPs. This weekend, in Blackpool, East Kilbride, Filey, Truro, Filey and Sheffield, 38 Degrees members asked their MPs to oppose Andrew Lansley’s dangerous NHS plans. Here’s happened on Friday evening when 38 Degrees members in Sheffield delivered a copy of our petition to Nick Clegg.

We want to go beyond single issues and contribute to building a broad movement for progressive change. The first 6 Billion Ways event took place in February 2009 and was very well attended. Like last time, the 2011 event will include space for education, organising and the arts.

Campaigners, from Oxfordshire Keep Our NHS Public and Oxford Save Our Services are opposed the the government’s proposed reform of the NHS, and other cuts to public services, including huge reductions in budgets for adult social care services that prevent ‘bed blocking’ where people that cannot get care in their local communities end up using hospital beds.
